October 16-17, 2015 at the Manteo Waterfront
Participants compete for largest fish in four categories: stripers, flounder, puppy drum and speckle trout … plus there’s a single “Grand Slam” award for the individual who weighs in fish from at least three of the four categories, with the highest total weight.
Held on the first weekend in October with the expectation of more fish and warmer weather, the tournament commences on the Manteo waterfront, with docking available at the Maritime Museum, where registration will occur 4-7pm Friday October 16. A welcome social will include food, beverages and entertainment.
As a family event, promoters make it a special point to “take a kid fishing”. Prizes and trophies will be awarded in adult, women’s and youth divisions. A silent auction includes great prizes and gifts available for all tastes and budgets. Saturday night awards banquet will be fun for all with live music and a pig pickin’ by Chef Paul Mann & Crew.
This Manteo Rotary community fundraising event has provided over $260,000 in scholarships to deserving young people in Dare County. Bring the whole family out for great fun and support a great cause!
