Top Outer Banks Events & Restaurant Specials for Week of May 29
After a beautiful Memorial Day weekend, the Outer Banks Summer season is already underway with more great events on the schedule this week.
The second show of the Soundside Live Sunset Concert Series is Thursday, June 1st at the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head featuring performances by national touring acts, Cris Jacobs, Selwyn Birchwood, and Ruth Wyand & The Tribe of One. The free show also includes an amazing circus act, local cuisine from Outer Banks restaurants, and handmade goods from the area’s most creative artisan vendors.
June 3rd through the 9th, internationally recognized as the crown jewel of wakestyle kiteboarding competition, the 2017 Wind Voyager Triple-S Invitational will showcase the talents of the best wakestyle kiteboarders on the planet. The format pits riders against one another in high-stakes heats and laid-back freeriding sessions in the world’s premier kite park. It’s 7 days of riding and 7 nights of parties featuring an epic music lineup including Ky-Mani Marley, Mix Master Mike, DJ QBert, and Method Man & Redman.
Looking to work off those hotdogs and hamburgers? Sunday, June 4th is Storm the Beach, a full-fledged obstacle course and adventure race held on the beach at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head. Athletes of all abilities crawl, climb, and conquer obstacles such as Swamp Scum and Sandfiddler Crawl.
