A live presentation about the history of Richard Etheridge and the Pea Island Life-Savers. Etheridge, a slave who grew up on Roanoke Island, was the nation's first Keeper of a U.S. Life-Saving Service station, and Station Pea Island the only station in the history of the service that had an all black crew.
